no things in peterborough are not a drag, i'm on about the diversions bewteen peterborough and newark northgate. Due to engineering work east coast, hull trains and grand central services were diverted from peterborough to newark or doncaster via lincoln with grand central and east coast HSTs going from lincoln up to doncaster via gainsborough which hull trains took a different route to keep it's grantham stops then back on the ecml at newark meanwhile the east coast 91s were stopped at peterborough for a class 67 to attach and take them to newark via lincoln. class 67s used were 67003, 67019, 67022, 67023, 67024 and 67029 ofwhich i got haulage on 67019, 67022 and 67003 in that order. overall i had a great day on these drags and getting some rare miles in. i also managed to see 6233 dutchess of sutherland on it's last railtour in the morning of the drags too

after having the body to a Heljan class 47 in colas livery hanging about the house for almost a week on wednesday was to be the day it was to leave but due to a glitch it didn't leave until the following day. After my Audition for this years school play i plundered off home to pick up the class 47 body and commuted over the other side of town to meet the founder of the railworld railway modeller's group and together we detailed it up and fitted it to a heljan class 47 chassis. on saturday the founder took the loco down railworld where it will run.
meanwhile me and jason had headed north to meet our mate Jeremy (littlegiant18794) and to go to the Great Central Railway (loughborough) for their anual autumn steam gala supported by steam railway. this year it had an eastern theme (though some would say scottish or north eastern theme because of 3 interludes and the other visitors there) the gala was dubiously called Go East Young Man and featured 71000 Duke of Gloucester visiting the GCR for the first time in 23 years, K4 61994 The Great Marquess, D49 246 Morayshire & J72 69023 Joem on their first ever visits to the GCR and the homefleet which featured O4 63601, N2 1744, 78019 which was renumbered as scottish class mate 78054 and freshley overhauled black 5 no. 45305 (4953 featured on the sunday in place of the N2 which had failed
overall the gala was a great success with tons of visitors and loads of fantastic trains and combination the only niggle was some very late running and the N2 failing in the evening this event was an absolute classic
videos and photos are now on both my respective sites for viewing

i'll start with the exclusive. after seeing all the convoys mentioned in my previous post i furthered into uncommon territory in peterborough to go visit my mate who is also the founder of the railworld railway modellers group to see, photo and film his exguisit exhibition layout called linda lane TMD which is based around london in a modern day scenario it is absolutely fantastic and i hope to upload a video of it soon.
